The Morrilton Devil Dogs scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come from behind and defeat Siloam Springs, 20-17, and remain tied for first place in the league at 2-0.

Two blowouts and two close match-ups provided the West with an interesting week for the conference.  Greenwood, Harrison, and Morrilton remained unbeaten in conference while Alma managed to get back in the conference win column with a big win.

Greenwood 38, Greenbrier 7 Greenbrier was never in the football game as they managed to score their only points in the fourth quarter when Greenwood led 38-0.  Eric Melton scored twice while Greenwood QB Micah Fritsche ran for one and passed for another.  Rodney Rhodes scored the Panthers only touchdown.  Predicted Score:  Greenwood 32, Greenbrier 13

Harrison 42, Clarksville 13 The Goblins scored on four of its first nine offensive plays of the game in route to an easy victory over the Panthers.
Spencer Schuh, Kasey Young, Guy Brown, Brent Rosson, Justin McCutcheon and Brett Bolton helped Harrison to a 28-0 halftime lead.  Clarksville’s Billy Cotton had a good game rushing for 126 yards and a 70 yard score against the Goblins.  Victor Perry rushed for Clarksville’s other touchdown.  Predicted Score:  Harrison 34, Clarksville 3

Alma 21, Huntsville 7 The Airedales defense held Huntsville scoreless through 3+ quarters before allowing a 26-yard touchdown pass from Bracken Thompson to Dustin Canion.  Alma QB Byron Bradley threw a 31-yard TD to Adam Hobbs with seven seconds remaining in the first half to give the Airedales a 7-0 halftime lead.  Alma moved to ball well at times, but still had problems turning the ball over.  Kyle Goodwin and backup Michael Dawson each fumbled in the second half.  But, the two running backs would make up for it later on a 10-yard Goodwin scoring run and a 55-yard Dawson TD run to close out Alma’s scoring with 1:42 left to play.  Predicted Score:  Alma 10, Huntsville 8

Morrilton 20, Siloam Springs 17 The Panthers led by four with two minutes left to play, but a costly turnover in their own territory and the subsequent 21-yard TD pass from Mark Kelley to Jeff Hart enabled the Devil Dogs to escape with the three point victory.  Josh Wingo’s diving interception with a minute to play sealed the game for the Devil Dogs on Siloam Springs’ ensuing possession.  The Panthers scored late in the first half on an eight yard pass from sophomore Chase Pittman to Mitch Boling to give Siloam a 7-0 halftime lead.  Panther kicker Park Dinger kicked a 40-yard field goal on its opening drive of the second half.  Morrilton’s Mark Kelley finished the game 296 yards passing and three TDs.  Predicted Score:  Morrilton 20, Siloam Springs 7
